Eyine Kim, BFA ’04 initiates and curates new arts festival in China
December 21, 2010

Eyine Kim, BFA ’04, is currently working for the Chinese government in the city of Tumen as the Director and Chief Curator of the Tumen River Arts Festival. She initiatiated the festival – the first ever in that part of China -  to promote cultural exchange between China and South and North Korea.

Along with lining up the artists for the exhibition, which included visual arts, performance, dance and theatre, Eyine also designed the exhibition catalogue along with the large arts centre and riverside park complex in which the festival takes place.

Tumen is considered a “political hotspot,” as it's separated from North Korea by the narrow Tumen River and the only rail line from North Korea crosses into China at this point.
