Takin’ on the road: Jewellery alum transform RV into travelling gallery
July 21, 2011

During the recent Society of North American Goldsmiths (SNAG) conference in Seattle, Washington, an  RV pulled up and parked across the street from the hotel.

But it wasn't just any old RV. This one had been transformed into a travelling art gallery, designed for a special exhibition: Mobile Canada, Bringing Contemporary Canadian Jewellery to You!

In it were 10 young Canadian contemporary jewellery designers who had revamped the RV, installed the exhibition and drove it to SNAG so 1000 fellow artists, along with everyone in Seattle, could see their work. Of the ten artists, six were NSCAD grads:

  • Micah Adams, BFA ‘08
  • Catherine Allen, MFA ‘07
  • Emily Gill, BFA ‘09
  • Lindsay MacDonald, BFA ‘05
  • Sarah Troper, BFA ‘00
  • Patrycja Zwierzynska, BFA ‘07

Suzanne Carlsen, also one of the curators, Margaret Lim, Annie Tung and Andree Wejsmann rounded out the team.  For photos and stories, check out their blog at  Mobile Canada.
