KW|AG commissions Susan Coolen, BDes '77, for 6th "Parochial View" Installment
Susan Coolen, BDes '77, has been commissioned by the Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery for Parochial Views No. 6, the sixth installment in the Gallery's Parochial Views series.
Coolen describes the allure of this project as being "located in the joy of seeing and finding, while being challenged to make images that might combine into a coherent and meaningful series hinting at the idea that the graphic forms of nature found here in Kitchener are also humanity's ‘common parlance' - the inspiration of written language and decorative motif."
Susan’s recent work, Parlance, is also included in her current installation at the Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery, GRAND SHADOWS [River Grand Chronicles No. 7], which runs until July 6.
Parlance, now in the collection of the Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery, can also be seen in the Spring 2009 issues of Border Crossings and Canadian Art. The Parlance series was created within KWAG's thematic series, Parochial Views.
