Fountain Campus Improvements
The library is one of the priority areas for renovations through the Fountain gift.

We've created a page to capture all the updates regarding the renovations to the Fountain Campus made possible through a significant gift from Margaret and David Fountain.

The latest drawings by Lydon Lynch:

At the last meeting of Architectural Design: Student Experience Project Advisory Group, Eugene Pieczonka and Lori Ryan presented floor plans for one scenario to renovate the library building. The plans incorporate the group's feedback to date.

The ground floor situates the entrance back to the original entrance of the building, close to the corner of Duke Street at Hollis Street. Other features include:

- a new rebuilt stairwell in the location of the existing stairwell
- cafe at the Hollis Street side
- "creative corner"
- security desk to delineate public space and NSCAD space
- media lounge along Duke Street windows
- accessibility via the lift to the elevator
- display wall to acts as a buffer between washrooms and seating area
- washrooms located in the vault, along with a storage area

See the plans for Library Level 00 (PDF)

The second floor would be as is, with the exception of changes to the stairwell and a reinforced floor.
