There’s a nip in the air and the smell of peppermint caffeinated beverages is all around—the holiday season is upon us. While some are fantasizing about sugar plums and others about copious amounts of eggnog, you may have a nagging feeling in the back of your mind… have you begun your holiday shopping yet?
Don’t worry, let NSCAD help you out and make your gift giving experience easy and enjoyable. We’ll help you find something for even the quirkiest person on your shopping list.
Support student artwork! Join NSCAD students on Friday, November 28 from 4 pm – 9 pm and Saturday, November 29 from 9 am – 5 pm for Pop-up at the Christmas Shop. Located in the former Christmas by the Sea shop at 1880 Hollis Street, Pop-up at the Christmas Shop is a show and sale featuring some of NSCAD’s best up-and-coming talent. There’ll be jewellery, printmaking, ceramics, photography, textiles, paintings and more from 60+ student artists.

No worries, gift certificates are available and always appreciated. Feel free to drop by the store at 1874 Hollis Street or call 902-494-8176.
The NSCAD alumni ring celebrates a grad’s lifelong connection to their university days. Designed and produced by jewelry designer Karen Konzuk (BFA ’97), this stainless steel band incorporates the official NSCAD colour with a side incision of purple powder-coated finish. Inside the band is an engraved Latin inscription of NSCAD’s informal school motto nolo facere insipida, after John Baldessari's lithograph I Will Not Make Any More Boring Art. Many sizes are in stock. Drop by University Relations, 4th floor, 5163 Duke Street, or order online. Other cool gifts for grads available through the Office of University Relations include a copy of Garry Neill Kennedy’s tome, The Last Art College: Nova Scotia Art and Design, 1969-1978 ($60) or the perfect NSCAD-branded frame for the NSCAD degree ($70).
NSCAD’s Annual Fund supports a wide array of activity at NSCAD, from student scholarships to facility improvements to visiting artist programs. Make a gift in a friend’s name or make your donation a gift to yourself. We make it easy—you can give online by visiting our Annual Fund page, donate in person at the Office of University Relations, 4th Floor, 5163 Duke Street, call Chris McFarlane at 902-494-8175, or send a cheque in the mail to: NSCAD Annual Fund, 5163 Duke Street, Halifax, Nova Scotia, B3J 3J6.
