Author and cultural critic Lewis Hyde presents "The Public Life of the Imagination." Presented by Visual Arts Nova Scotia. 7 pm at Paul O'Regan Hall, Halifax Central Library.Admission is free, but please reserve your seat through Eventbrite.

Artist talk by Angela Arsenault. 12 noon. Anna Leonowens Gallery.

Artist talk by Christopher Reid Flock. Foundation Studies welcomes experimental potter, Christopher Reid Flock, recipient of the Winifred Shantz Award for Ceramics. Reid’s work incorporates a voracity of new materials and processes in addition to being influenced by significant time spent in Japan. Reid’s talk will discuss his ambitious new work which features prominent large-scale, installation forms based upon 3d print, slip cast, and wheel work. Recent projects include a collaboration with Siemens Canada the facilitate scanning a Neolithic Jomon Vessel, which was later put through multiple rapid and slow fabrication processes. Reid will discuss the moral issues surrounding rapid prototyping and his approach to scanning and 3d printing/sintering and how it interrelates to classical clay process. Reid will be working with Foundation students over the March 27-31 week.

The Art Factory is a partnership with Phoenix Youth Program.The Art Factory Final Exhibition and Celebration opens at the Port Loggia Gallery, 6-8 pm.

Kitchen Sink, indoor yard sale. A fundraiser for Eyelevel Gallery. Featuring DJ Dirty Dishes (Kate Walchuk), art service auction, raffle prizes, lemonade stand, coffee and treats. 5-9 pm. Parish Hall, St. George's Round Church.
