Presidential search underway
July 24, 2012

The search for NSCAD University’s next president is underway.

The Presidential Search Committee has been formed, comprising five members from the Board of Governors, a student representative and two faculty members.

Chaired by incoming board chair Grant Machum, committee members include Karin Cope (faculty), Michael Donovan (board), Margaret Fountain (board), Steve Higgins (faculty), Jim Mills (board), David Murphy (alumni rep on the board), and Sarah Trower (student).

Acting President Daniel O’Brien, whose year-end appointment ends May 2013, will provide support to the committee in a non-voting capacity.

The committee will soon seek input on the preferred qualities, experiences and mandate of the new President. It hopes to advertise for the position in the fall; generate a shortlist of candidates by December; conduct interviews over the winter months; and recommend a candidate to the Board of Governors for hire by April 2013. The committee will make regular updates on the presidential search process.
