Certificate in Computer Graphics

The noncredit Certificate in Computer Graphics program focuses on technical and real-life challenges that arise when working with computer graphics software. Graphic software applications are introduced through demonstrations, in-class exercises, and skills-building projects. Courses are offered in Macintosh OS; however, the applications that are taught are virtually identical to Windows versions.

The Certificate in Computer Graphics is awarded to students who:

  • successfully complete the certificate program within three years of starting the first course;
  • complete three eligible, noncredit, thirty-hour courses (courses vary each semester);
  •  attend every class; and,
  •  satisfactorily complete all in-class and homework assignments.

Introduction to Digital Imaging is offered every term. Digital Page Layout, Web Animation, and Computer Illustration are offered at least once a year. Advanced Digital Imaging is sometimes offered. Click here to see the non-credit course list for current available courses.

The certificate program is open to anyone 16 years or older. Enrollment is limited. Currently enrolled students have first option for registration the next term. All other registrations are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Courses do not need to be taken in any special order, although Photoshop skills are an asset in page layout and interactive work. It is strongly recommended that only one course be taken at a time due to course workload and subject matter. Courses may be taken whether or not one intends to receive a certificate. A letter of sponsorship from a granting institution is acceptable at time of registration in lieu of payment.
