Enhanced Teaching Skills: Engaging Students in Learning
(Deferred until Fall 2010)
This course will engage participants in an interactive journey to identify, apply and practice  effective teaching as part of building enhanced cultures of learning. This one-day introductory course will include the following: Designing interactive learning cultures, Teaching and Learning basics; Designing engaging Lesson Plans; and, Assessing teaching effectiveness.  This course is structured for instructors and teachers interested in pursuing opportunities to enhance their current teaching practice.


Cultivating ConceptsArtists and designers can find it challenging to communicate their ideas to others as well as outline the steps to take to see their work realized.  Through guided visualization and using drawing as a medium instructor Michael Fernandes will bring students full circle when working through ideas. Concepts around installations, public art work, building design or any range of 3 dimensional work is first established on paper.  This course encourages students to open their creative shell and allow themselves no limits on seeing their ideas come to fruition on paper.  Class Limit is 18.
