The Basics of Adobe Creative Suite: Design PremiumAre you wondering if Adobe Creative Suite can offer you what you need in your art practice or professional life?  This two-day workshop will cover the basic programs as well as their highlights.  Through hands on instruction, students will follow a basic tutorial on each of the programs: Photoshop, Bridge, Indesign, Illustrator, and Adobe Reader. Class limit is 14.

Introduction to Digital ImagingThe digital imaging process used to create images for use in digital page layout, interactive media, the web and digital artwork is introduced.  Demonstrations, personal and group critiques, exercises and an independent project will familiarize students with the Adobe Photoshop interface, tools, features and menus.  Scanning, imaging manipulation, composition, and the use of painterly and photographic effects, digital colour and printing process will be addressed. Tuition includes 10 weeks of access outside of class for homework during times scheduled in cooperation with Multimedia staff.  Bring a CD-R or USB Flash Drive, notebook and pen to first class.  Prerequisite: Introducing the Computer workshop or equivalent experience with Macintosh OSX operating system. Class limit is 14.
This course qualifies as part of the Certificate in Computer Graphics or Certificate in Photography.
Using Adobe Photoshop CS4 on Macintosh OSX

The fundamentals of digital page layout are introduced using Adobe InDesign, a desktop publishing program used to create posters, brochures, business cards, and other printed material.  Discussions, demonstrations, exercises, and projects will explore single and multi-page documents, graphic and typographic elements, colour usage, and printing procedures.  Tuition includes 10 weeks of access outside of class for homework during times scheduled in cooperation with Multimedia staff. Creating Motion Graphics: Adobe After EffectsThis course is an introduction to the Adobe program, After Effects CS4. This software will allow you to work with motion graphics and visual tools. Students will cover the basics of the program as well as how to import from other Adobe programs such as Photoshop.  Students are expected to complete a final independent project. Tuition includes 10 weeks access outside of class for homework during times scheduled in cooperation with MultiMedia staff. Bring a USB Flash Drive, notebook and pen to the first class.  Prerequisite: Must be familiar with Macintosh OSX operating system. Class limit is 11.
This course qualifies as part of the Certificate in Computer Graphics.
