This introductory course requires no prior experience, but access to a DSLR Digital camera with manual exposure capability is necessary. The course covers digital workflow from shooting to photo storage, hardware management including camera care, basics of digital manipulation, and digital printing. Printing costs are not included and students can expect to spend approximately $150 on materials. Tuition includes 10 weeks of access outside of class (up to 10 hour per week) in the photography/multi-media computer lab. Students should be familiar with the basic operations of their individual cameras, as individualized instruction is not provided. Class limit is 16.
This course qualifies as part of the Certificate in Photography.

Students who have completed the Black & White Photography, Colour Photography, Introductory to Digital Photography or equivalent will further their knowledge of photographic, lighting, shooting and printing. Topics to cover will include advanced lighting techniques, refining processing, and printing techniques. Students who have completed the 10-week Introduction to Digital Photography course or equivalency will have limited access to the computer lab in either photography or multi media. Students working in traditional wet process will have access to the black and white darkrooms as part of the class for a 10-week period (up to 10 hour, outside of class, per week). Discussions on developing student’s personal work and self directed projects will be the focus. Please Note: The NSCAD Photography Department no longer has a colour print processor. Students will be expected to cover their own material costs. Class limit is 16.
