Digital Page Layout with InDesign
The fundamentals of digital page layout and desktop publishing are introduced using Adobe InDesign CS5 on Macintosh OSX. Discussions, demonstrations, exercises, and projects will explore single and multi-page documents, graphic and typographic elements, colour usage, and printing procedures. Students are expected to complete a final independent project that might include a poster, brochure, business card, or other printed material. Tuition includes 10 weeks of access outside of class for homework during times scheduled in cooperation with Multimedia staff. Bring a CD-R or USB Flash Drive, notebook and pen to first class.
Prerequisite: Must be familiar with Macintosh OSX operating system. Class limit is 11.

This course qualifies as part of the Certificate in Digital Media.

Introduction to Rhino
Rhinoceros is a 3D modeling software often used in industrial and architectural works, CAD/CAM, jewellery and graphic design. Rhino has multi-disciplinary functions and has the ability to import and export over 30 file formats. In this class students will lean what they can do with this interactive program.  The class will cover the basics of the program and allow students to find success in its use for everything from everyday purposes to unique projects.Tuition includes 10 weeks access outside of class for homework during times scheduled in cooperation with Multimedia staff. Introduction to Adobe After Effects
In this course, students will learn the basics on how to use Aftereffects to create 2D and 3D digital graphics and animations. There are a lot of possible applications for Aftereffects, as it is compatible with various other digital tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Final Cut Pro and others. This in depth course provides practical ways to enhance or alter video clips, still images, animations, and text (often used for titles in movies).
Prerequisite: Must be familiar with Macintosh OSX operating system. Class limit is 8.

Introduction to Adobe Photoshop
The creation of digital images for use in digital page layout, interactive media, the web and digital artwork is introduced using Adobe Photoshop on Macintosh OSX. Demonstrations, exercises, and an independent project will familiarize students with the Adobe Photoshop interface, tools, features and menus. Scanning, imaging manipulation, composition, and the use of painterly and photographic effects, digital colour and printing process will be addressed. Tuition includes 10 weeks of access outside of class for homework during times scheduled in cooperation with Multimedia staff. Bring a CD-R or USB Flash Drive, notebook and pen to first class.
