This
class will involve explorations in the symbolic 'mythic' expression and
narrative elements found in one’s artwork. 'Storytelling', or the
writing of short narrative vignettes in response to artwork, will be a
central element of this class. In addition, art responses to
pre-existing myths, stories, fables and fairy tales read aloud, will
take place. The creation of artwork and writing of short stories will
occur in class. Participants may gain tools to understand the
multiplicity of meanings found in their artwork, giving the image a
‘voice’ by dialoguing with it. Student may use it as a tool for
accessing sparks from the imagination that may provide ideas for
creative writing or subject matter for more developed art works. Class limit is 17.
