NSCAD Teen Arts Studio Bursary Program

The Teen Arts Studio Bursary Program

The Teen Arts Studio Bursary Program was created in 1983 through the endowed gift of Alexander J. Mac Donald.  The Bursary enables NSCAD to extend visual arts education to high school students in Grades 9-12. It is specifically designed to engage highly motivated young artists from low-income environments, who are keen to explore the visual arts but unlikely to enroll due to registration and, transportation costs.

Who is eligible?
Students in grade 9-12 experiencing financial challenges or living in low-income environments may apply directly through their school guidance office for the Teen Arts Bursary. Only students experiencing financial need are eligible for this bursary.

How do I apply?
We work directly with the high school guidance counsellor regarding eligible students. This means that all applications go through the guidance office in the school. The school will then recommend the student(s) to us. If you are interested in applying for the Teen Arts Bursary, visit the counselling office in your school to find out the specifics of their application process.

Deadline for bursary nominations is Wednesday, June 16, 2010

How can I find out more?
