Dr. Nick Webb

Dr. Nick Webb has been teaching at NSCAD since 1981. For fifteen years, he was Chair of the Art Education Division, and Director of the MA program. He is now a professor in the Division of Historical and Critical Studies. His teaching includes courses in pedagogy, philosophy, and aesthetics. He has also supervised graduate students in both the MFA and MDes programs.

Originally trained in functional ceramics in Birmingham, England, he completed his MA at the Birmingham College of Art (Birmingham City University) U.K. and his PhD at Pennsylvania State University in the United States.

He now works primarily in wood and clay and exhibits mixed media work. He is published in scholarly journals and books, has lectured in the US and Europe, and for the last six years, was engaged in a consultancy for design and technology education with the Department of Education in Trinidad and Tobago. He is an external examiner for the International Baccalaureate Program.
