Technology and Facilities

The Media Arts Division’s studios, darkrooms and edit suites occupy a variety of sites on campus, and some facilities are accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The photo and media arts labs are housed in the main Granville campus; the film program’s facilities are located in the historic Alliance Atlantis Academy Building, a short walk away.

Photography

Photographic Services provides extensive facilities for both film-based and digital imaging. The photo department encourages both wet and computer processes in photography and students have access to a gang darkroom, individual film processing cubicles as well as a suite of computers available for digital photographic work.  The technical staff are available to assist with equipment booking and technical inquiries.

Media Arts
Multimedia Center, equipped with computer and audio-visual resources, also offers students the opportunity to work in video with a video studio, editing suites, and sound equipment. The computer labs offer software options to students working in design, web based media, animation, and image rendering. The technical staff are available to assist with equipment booking and technical inquiries.

 Academy
NSCAD's Academy Building is the home for many of the Media Arts programs, including film, intermedia and animation.
