As one of North America’s oldest art institutes, we have been an integral player in developing the continent’s art school exchange programs, as well as those around the world. Since 1972, the program has grown to include more than 70 partner institutions in 15 countries, including Australia, China, the Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Ghana, Ireland, Japan, Korea, Mexico, the Netherlands, Portugal, Scotland and the US. We have direct exchange school partners and also participate in the AICAD Mobility Program.
Exchange may also be called Mobility or Study Abroad. Applicants must be registered at an institution with which NSCAD has a formal exchange agreement and must apply through the appropriate official at their home institution. View our full list of Exchange partner schools here. Typically, exchange, mobility or study abroad students travel to NSCAD in their third or fourth year and may study in any division for one or two semesters. If you are a student at a school with which NSCAD does not have a partnership, you may still apply to study here as a Visiting student. Visiting students must pay tuition to NSCAD while exchange students pay tuition to their home institution and the tuition at NSCADis waived.
Applicants should consult the timetable for the semester(s) during which they wish to enroll to choose the courses in which they are interested. This list of courses will form the basis of a proposal for exchange study.
