Donna J. Betts, PhD, ATR-BC, (BFA ’92) received an MA in Art Therapy from George Washington University in 1999, and a PhD in Art Education with a specialization in Art Therapy from Florida State University in 2005. She has worked with client populations ranging from autism to eating disorders and advocates for the power of the artistic process in healing. Presently, Dr. Betts is an Assistant Professor in the George Washington University graduate art therapy program. A dedicated member of the art therapy community, Dr. Betts has served on the Board of Directors of both the American Art Therapy Association and the Art Therapy Credentials Board.
