Jessica Scott Kerrin BFA ‘88

Jessica Scott Kerrin is an award-winning Canadian children’s writer who is best known for her fiction books for boys, including an eight-book series called Martin Bridge, a trilogy called The Lobster Chronicles, and two new mystery novels called The Spotted Dog Last Seen and The Missing Dog is Spotted. Literary critics from Horn Book, Kirkus Starred Reviews, School Library Journal, the Toronto Star and the Globe and Mail claim that she adds much-needed male protagonists to early chapter-book readers. Jessica has served on numerous national writing juries, including the prestigious 2014 Governor General Literary Awards. Jessica teaches workshops on creative writing, and she has delivered presentations across Canada and in the United States for organizations such as the International Association of Readers, the Canadian Society of Authors, Illustrators and Performers, the Canadian Children’s Book Centre, the Writers’ Federation of Nova Scotia and Mount Saint Vincent University.
