Gallery exhibitions and openings

Gallery 1
Ample but not intimidating
Kristen Sharpe, undergraduate exhibitor

Sharpe states: “Through a series of oil paintings, I explore possible relationships between private interior spaces and the exterior landscape/environment.  By looking at the nature in which people control their interior space and the objects they house, I have controlled and ornamented spaces in order to emphasize the impulsive desire to adorn it.”

Gallery 3
Home Relief
Desirée Rondeau, undergraduate exhibitor

Rondeau says about her exhibition: “This body of work began as a desire to explore a material in a new way.  Home Relief strives to collaborate painting with sculpture, originating from maps with personal significance. Creating works of significant places became an attempt to alleviate fear of change and prevent future longing.  The work observes past memory in the present while speculating about the future.”
