To access the form you will need to login:
User Login = your library barcode number (29360...) on your NSCAD ID card.
Password = your Novanet login password.
Having Trouble Logging in?
To access the NSCAD Request form, your NSCAD library account needs to be registered and up to date. You can check this by logging on to your Library Account in the Novanet Catalogue, using the barcode on the back of your NSCAD ID card. If you can’t log in, please check with the Circulation Desk to either update your account or register as a borrower. The interlibrary loan forms will become available to you IMMEDIATELY AFTER you are registered.
Submitting the Request
Fill out as many of the fields as you can, as accurately and completely as possible.
Use the TAB key to move between fields; hitting ENTER will submit the request.
You will have to agree to a copyright certification statement before submiting the request.
Notification of Arrivals
You will be notified by email or phone when the item(s) you requested arrive.
All returnable materials (books, microfilm, audio/visual materials) must be picked up at the Interlibrary Loans Desk in the Library Office. Delivery time normally ranges from 3 days to 2 weeks, mainly depending on the proximity of the lending library.
Articles can be delivered electronically to your registered university email address. The default delivery method for article requests is "Email link". This will deliver an email to your account with a link to a .pdf file of the article. Important note:for copyright reasons, the article can only be opened from the link once. However, it can be printed or saved for use at your convenience. The link in the email will be available for opening for 14 days after the email is sent. Articles may also be sent by mail or fax.
Who is Eligible to Use the NSCAD Library Interlibrary Loan Services?
All NSCAD registered borrowers with a NSCAD email address may use the Relais ILL request form to request books, articles, or other material that they cannot find within the Novanet system. Requests may be sent at any time, from any computer with Internet access. It is important to use your NSCAD email address if you want to have articles delivered directly to you electronically.
What Can be Done at the Request Form?
The request form should be used for requesting items not available at NSCAD or another Novanet library. Once logged in you have the ability to:
a) place new requests for books and articles
b) view the status of your outstanding requests and your complete order history
c) cancel any requests that you have submitted
Books: No charge for items from Canadian libraries; lending libraries' fees from international (including US) libraries
Articles: lending libraries' fees from Canadian libraries; lending libraries' fees from international (including US) libraries
Courier fee for express delivery: $10.00
Note: Any ILL charges will be added to your patron account in Novanet and can be paid at the Circulation Desk.
