ART SOURCE (EBSCOhost - formerly Art Full Text)
Art Source covers a broad range of related subjects, from fine, decorative and commercial art, to various areas of architecture and architectural design. Providing over 600 full-text journals, more than 220 full-text books, and a collection of over 63,0000 images, it is designed for use by a diverse audience, including art scholars, artists, designers, students and general researchers.

GROVE / OXFORD ART ONLINE
Grove Art Online is a regularly updated, scholarly art encyclopedia from Oxford University Press which includes thousands of articles, biographies, citations, and images.  It also includes reference works such as The Oxford Companion to Western Art, The Concise Oxford Dictionary of Art Terms, and The Encyclopedia of Aesthetics. JSTOR
Access to eight multidisciplinary and discipline-specific collections that include complete runs of journals as well as select monographs, transactions, and conference proceedings.

PROJECT MUSE
Project Muse provides access to full-text scholarly journals in the fields of literature and criticism, history, the visual and performing arts, cultural studies, education, political science, gender studies, economics, and others.Journals are from many of the the world's leading university presses and scholarly societies, with over 120 publishers currently participating.

PROQUEST RESEARCH LIBRARY
This general database gives access to thousands of current periodicals and newspapers, many updated daily and containing full-text articles from 1986 onward.

TAYLOR & FRANCIS (Bloomsbury [formerly Berg] Journal Access)
Taylor & Francis indexes articles published in thousands of scholarly, interdisciplinary journals.  If the Library subscribes to a particular title, the full-text will be activated via Taylor  & Francis online. For the NSCAD community, the Bloomsbury journals Art in Translation, Architecture and Culture, Design and Culture, The Design Journal, Design Philosophy Papers, Fashion Practice, Fashion Theory, Home Cultures, Interiors, Journal of Aesthetics and Phenomenology, The Journal of Modern Craft, Luxury, Material Religion, Photography & Culture, The Senses & Society, Textile, Textile Design Research, and Practice are now available full text online via this database.

ART BIBLIOGRAPHIES MODERN
1974 to the present. Abstracts of journal articles, books, essays, exhibition catalogs, dissertations, and exhibition reviews. The scope extends from artists and movements beginning with impressionism in the late 19th century up to the most recent works and trends in the late 20th century.

ART INDEX RETROSPECTIVE (EBSCOhost)
1929 to the present. Indexes 300+ English and foreign language journals, yearbooks and museum bulletins in the fields of art and architecture from 1929 to the present. Both articles and reproductions of art works are indexed.

BERG FASHION LIBRARY
The Berg Fashion Library is updated at least three times a year and is fully cross searchable with other Berg content, including the Berg Encyclopedia of World Dress and Fashion online, ebooks, other reference works, images, Berg online full-text journals, and much more.

BHA & RILA (free access)
The J. Paul Getty Trust provides free access to the Bibliography of the History of Art (BHA) and to the Répertoire international de la littérature de l'art (RILA) for no charge on its Web site. These citation databases, searchable together, cover material published between 1975 and 2007.

DESIGN AND APPLIED ARTS INDEX
More than 110,000 annotated references from 450 design and craft journals published between 1973–2001, and data on over 50,000 designers, craftspeople, studios, workshops, firms etc.

ARTS: SEARCH
Contains ReView [Full-text]19th and early 20th century art journals, Design Abstracts Retrospectives (DAR) (over 50,000 entries) providing coverage of more than 100 design and design-related journals, and Arts+Architecture ProFiles (AAP) Biographical dictionary of modern designers, craftspeople, artists and architects.

ARTStor is a digital library of nearly one million images in the areas of art, architecture, the humanities, and social sciences with a set of tools to view, present, and manage images for research and pedagogical purposes.

ART and ARCHITECTURE IN VIDEO (Alexander Street Press)
Art and Architecture in Video delivers over 500 hours of documentaries and interviews illustrating the theory and practice of a variety of art forms and providing the context necessary for critical analysis. The works within this collection offer a dynamic tool to enhance understanding of visual media.

ASIAN FILM ONLINE (Alexander Street Press)
A selection of over 1,000 narrative feature films, documentaries and shorts, created by independent Asian filmmakers and curated by film scholars and critics, provides highly relevant perspectives and insights into themes common across Asia such as modernity, globalization, female agency, social and political unrest, and cultural and sexual identity.

ASKART
The AskArt site contains images of works by artists from around the globe, as well as biographical information, exhibition listings and helpful lists of books and articles.

e-ARTEXTE
e-artexte is the library catalogue of Artexte and a digital repository for contemporary Canadian art publications. The catalogue contains over 23,000 records from Artexte's collection. e-artexte is an open access platform for publishers, authors and artists.

FADIS
FADIS is an image database and presentation tool created specifically for teaching with art and architecture images, and NSCAD is a contributing member. FILMAKERS LIBRARY ONLINE (Alexander Street Press)
Filmakers Library Online provides award-winning documentaries with relevance across the curriculum—race and gender studies, human rights, globalization and global studies, multiculturalism, international relations, criminal justice, the environment, bioethics, health, political science and current events, psychology, arts, literature, and more.

HotDocs Doc Library (free)
Database of Canadian documentaries shown at the HotDocs Festival; includes commentary, further links, and educational resources.

KANOPY STREAMING SERVICE (subscription)
An online video streaming service that provides access to titles on a subscription basis for educational use. Content is selected by faculty to support teaching and learning.

NFB Campus (free and paid content)
NFB CAMPUS is a subscription service that offers expanded online access to NFB educational resources—a collection that includes films, interactive productions and teaching tools.

NEW WORLD CINEMA: INDEPENDENT FEATURES AND SHORTS, 1990–PRESENT  (Alexander Street Press)
Includes over 200 full-length feature films from leading independent distributors such as Kino Lorber, First Run Features, Film Movement, and Global Lens. There are also some 50 award winning short films. 

SILENT FILM ONLINE (Alexander Street Press) 
"Silent Film Online brings together films which represent the basis of modern cinematic technique and film theory. Carefully curated with ASP’s Video Advisory Board, the database covers silent features, serials, and shorts from the 1890s to the 1930s."

DIRECTORY OF OPEN ACCESS JOURNALS (DOAJ)
A directory of free, full text, open access journals, this service currently provides access to over 4000 journals, many of which are searchable at the article level.

ERIC (free access)
ERIC - the Education Resources Information Center - is an online digital library of education research and information. ERIC indexes scholarly journals, newsletters, and ERIC documents (most available full-text) from 1966 - present.

INTELEX PAST MASTERS
InteLex Past Masters offers 117 full-text humanities databases that are focused on the needs of the scholarly community in the human sciences. InteLex assembles and publishes cohesive collections of excellent editions, in both original language and in English translation, using meticulous text conversion processes.

JSTOR

OXFORD ENGLISH DICTIONARY Search words archaic, obscure, unfamiliar, or commonly misused in the Oxford English Dictionary, "the definitive record of the English language." You can also: browse the whole dictionary from A to Z; browse words by categories, i.e., subject, usage, region, or origin; use timelines to discover when words entered the English language, and search the historical thesaurus.

PERIODICALS ARCHIVE ONLINE
Periodicals Archive Online indexes millions of articles published in the arts, humanities and social sciences, across more than 300 years from 1665 to 1995. It provides access to the full text of a growing number of digitized periodicals that have been indexed in its sister database, Periodicals Index Online.

PROJECT GUTENBERG
For many years, Project Gutenberg has been offering published books now out of copyright free for reading online or downloading to a mobile device. Over 33,000 books are now available through Project Gutenberg and its partners and affiliates.

Refworks is an online, web-based software program which assists in managing citation information for research work.  Citations can be generated from Refworks in various bibliographic formats or in-text throughout documents.
