Kristy Depper is a photographic artist motivated by the effects of socio-political privileging on the concepts of individuality and community. Her work employs a form of mapping and conceptual documentary to frame social experiences related to the notions of community and the construction of identity.
Kristy holds an MFA from NSCAD University in Halifax (2014), where she was awarded the Bombardier Graduate Scholarship from SSRHC, the Roloff Beny Scholarship, a Graduate Fellowship Award and a scholarship from the Nova Scotia Talent Trust. Additionally, she holds an Honours BFA from Ryerson University (2012) and a Diploma in Applied Photography from Sheridan College (1999). Her work has been exhibited in both Ontario and Nova Scotia.
