Rachel de Conde

Having lived, studied, and travelled coast to coast in North America, Rachel de Condé returned to the Maritimes in early 2009 and began working from the studio she built in Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia a short time later. She explores installation and functional work while taking inspiration from the fields and forest outside her studio door. de Condé received her MFA in 2008 from the University of Washington and her BFA in 2004 from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design University (NSCAD), where she now holds a part-time faculty teaching position. Previously a resident at Harbourfront Centre in Toronto, Ontario, de Condé has participated in a number of solo and group exhibitions in Canada and the United States, most recently at the Florida Makers Residency in Gainesville, Florida.
