The disciplines of painting and printmaking both hold strong material and methodical characteristics that soothe and challenge me. Urbanization, abandon and technological dependence are a few of the subjects that have heavily influenced my work. Snapshot photography, out of my car window on PEI, inspired the majority of the painted works, while prints contain found images altered to create new narratives. It all adds up to an attempt at understanding why I am drawn to particular structures, situations and subjects. By exploring through art making I hope to I either figure it out or exhaust my curiosity, or both.
