About the Artist
Norma Jean MacLean is a 2011 graduate of NSCAD University and a Bloomfield PEI native. During her studies at NSCAD she concentrated on painting and printmaking and exhibited in both group and solo shows at NSCAD's Anna Leonowens and Port Loggia galleries. Currently she has work in Shauna McCabe's, Rural Readymade, which is scheduled to go on tour across Canada in early 2012. Topics of technological dependence, rural abandon, re-imagined space and organized leisure have all been incorporated into recent works. In addition to a Fine Arts degree, Norma Jean also has a degree in Biology and Physics from the University of Prince Edward Island, from which she draws upon for environmental and structural influence in her images. Norma Jean currently lives and works in Charlottetown PEI.
