To begin, just start clicking some classes on the timetable to create a schedule.

Note that once a semester has begun, the Interactive Timetable will NOT be available for that semester. All new registrations and changes (Add / Drop) must be made in person at the Office of Student and Academic Services.

How to Use the Interactive Timetable

Finding Courses
Students can look for courses using the following criteria in any combination: Course Code, Course Type, Days, Times or Instructor. To begin, enter a few search terms or click on a course topic to see what classes are available in that area. To see all available courses for the semester, leave all the fields blank and click 'search'.

Adding and Removing Courses
You can add classes to your first and second choice selections using the respective links at the right of the timetable. Your selections will appear just above the timetable, and you can remove one at any time using the remove link to the right of the course.

Draft Selections
This feature can be used as a way to see only those courses that are of particular interest to you. When you are finished adding courses to the draft selections, you can scroll back up and build your schedule based on that list.

Second Choice Courses
It is very important that students submit second choice courses in addition to their first choice. Due to the restrictions of credit priority and enrolment space, students should provide as many choices as possible to ensure a full schedule.  Students should check and be aware of conflicts created if a second choice course has to be used.

Completing the Course Selection Process
When you are finished choosing your courses, click the 'Continue' button to proceed. This will allow you to preview the form and send it electronically to the Office of Student and Academic Services.

NOTE: Priorities in course placement are in effect only during the designated prioritized registration period. Any subsequent registrations will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis for any remaining spaces in courses.

If submitting your Registration Form in person or via fax, you must include the following information on your selection form or you will not be placed in courses!

Complete the top section of the form:

  • with your ID number
  • Name, current mailing address, telephone number, NSCAD student email address
  • Exchange students should indicate home institution
  • Course Code #: this number must be noted correctly in its entirety (e.g. AHIS2010) on your course selection form.  The Office cannot be responsible for incorrectly noted codes that may lead to incorrect registration.
  • Course Title
  • Credits, Days, Time, and Instructor, if listed on the timetable.

*** Submitting incomplete forms may delay your registration***
