Alex’s time at NSCAD started in 1988 as a student completing his BFA, and as an employee in 1992.

Alex has been doing photo related work since the mid 80’s. With a wide variety of interests that experience is wide and diverse, holography, photography, historic processes, photo chemistry, digital printing, boat building and now 3d printing all have been explored.

Alex currently is serving as the senior technician at NSCAD and as the VP of FUNSCAD Unit 2 position. In the past he has been employed as a fashion photographer in Europe, designed photo chemical processes (principal prop for The Shipping News film can be seen in the trailer), invented a historic process modifying others, billboards  across Canada, magazines, books, and multiple publications.

Currently this constant tinkerer is currently working on a lamp design, and a design for ultra light weight sailing catamaran.
