CURRENT RESEARCH AND/OR CREATIVE PRACTICE

Walker’s practice operates on vernacular histories of the graphic arts. Her print works and site-specific murals subvert the propagandistic function of nostalgia in contemporary culture, disputing the civilizing influence and assumed moral authority of nation building in North America.

SIGNIFICANT PUBLICATIONS/EXHIBITIONS

Walker exhibits widely throughout North America and internationally, with pieces housed in multiple public and private collections. Her work appeared recently in exhibitions at the Milwaukee Art Museum, Milwaukee, WI; Huron Arts Gallery, San Francisco, CA; the Civic and Cultural Center Numancia, Santander, Spain; the Novosibirsk Graphic Arts Triennial, Novosibirsk State Art Museum, Russia; and the International Print Center, NYC, NY. Walker won the Grand Prize at the 2018 Okanagen Print Triennial in Kelowna, BC, and was long-listed for the 2019 Sobey Art Award.
