Background

A graduate of the London International Film school, in London’s Covent Garden, Sam moved to Canada in the early 90’s.  Since then, Sam has racked up over twenty five years of professional experience in the film industry working on every scale of project from indie low budget through to Hollywood blockbusters.  In his varied career Sam has worked in almost every capacity in the film world, from lowly carpenter, building film scenery, right up to executive producer developing tv shows for Canadian broadcasters.

Sam has also written produced and directed his own work, and in 2004 his short film Scary Stuff won several international awards, including Best Short Film at the Chicago International Children’s film festival and Best Editing at the Atlantic International Film Festival.

Sam is also a published professional author and in 2015 he was awarded the Junior Library Guild, won the Hackmatack Children’s Choice Book Award, and was nominated for the Manitoba Children’s Choice Book Award for his book, Scare Scape.  He has also written for the stage and in 2007, his first main stage play was performed to critical acclaim at the Alderney Landing Theater.

Sam has more recently also ventured into the world of film technology and was the original inventor of the ANDRA Motion Focus system, which is now in the final stages of development into an industry-ready product.
