Food is more than sustenance; it fuels inspiration, energy, and the ability to focus. Without reliable access to food, artists may struggle with the energy and mental clarity they need to do creative work. But, when artists are well-nourished, they’re better equipped to create meaningful work that reflects, challenges, and inspires society.
That’s why NSCAD is focused on improving food security for students this #GivingTuesday.
The J & W Murphy Foundation has generously pledged to match all donations from NSCAD’s community (up to $3,500), which means every dollar donated will have double the impact. Funds raised this year will be directed to the NSCAD Food Security Bursary and used to provide grocery cards to students in need.
This Giving Tuesday, your donation will help our students afford the healthy food they need to realize their potential. Let’s make sure our artists, designers and makers can focus on their work—not on where their next meal is coming from.
