Painting

Painting and Drawing facilities at NSCAD University are vibrant workspaces where students develop their creative and practical skills. During intensive time working in studios, students explore a variety of media, master techniques and large-scale work, and receive guidance that helps them grow as an artist while building professional skills for exhibitions, installations, and beyond.

What To Expect

NSCAD’s Painting and Drawing facilities offer a collaborative and supportive environment where curiosity and experimentation are encouraged. Our technicians provide one-on-one support and guidance on materials, tools, and project planning.

Whether you’re constructing custom painting supports, learning studio techniques, or preparing work for a gallery, technicians and instructors equip students with the skills and confidence to bring their ideas to life.

Our workspaces serve as a resource hub for students navigating practical aspects of artmaking, including shipping, framing, and exhibition setup. Students can book time with technicians to discuss strategies for handling large works, international shipping, or creating durable installations via Brightspace.
