Whether you are applying for Fall 2027 and have a robust collection of artworks or are still a few years away and are just starting to build up a portfolio, join us for our Cape Breton Portfolio Day. This free event is designed to help you develop and strengthen your portfolio, learn about studying at NSCAD, and connect with our creative community.
You’ll have the opportunity to:
- Receive one-on-one feedback about your portfolio and discuss your creative and academic plans with a member of NSCAD’s recruitment team
- Participate in a drop-in art workshop led by a NSCAD alum from your community
- Ask questions about the application process, admissions requirements, scholarships, and student life
- Connect with fellow aspiring artists and designers from across Cape Breton.
- Discover NSCAD’s undergraduate programs and explore where a creative education can take you!

- Winter Portfolio Day: Attend this in-person event for feedback on your portfolio, guidance on your application, and to explore our campuses and programs.
- National Portfolio Days: Offers a unique opportunity to meet one-on-one with art and design schools from across North America. Get valuable portfolio feedback, learn about academic programs and connect with NSCAD representatives, at select in-person and virtual events.
- NSCAD Extended Studies: Offers a variety of camps, workshops and non-credit courses designed specifically for youth aged 13+ to develop their creative skills.
- Portfolio Prep Course: NSCAD’s Extended Studies offers a 4-week virtual Review Course designed to help you strengthen your portfolio in preparation for your Art and Design school application.
- Pre-University: Students entering their final year of high school are eligible to apply to take one Foundation-level summer course. Learn in a university studio environment and study alongside current NSCAD students.
