What To Expect
Expect an immersive, collaborative environment where critical thinking is transformed into systemic, high-impact design solutions. At NSCAD, design is approached as an active, interdisciplinary medium rather than a desk-bound trade. You will be pushed to design not just for people, but with them—tackling everything from graphic communication and UI/UX design to interactive digital spaces, publication design, and physical product prototyping.
Under the mentorship of leading active designers and expert technical advisors, you will gain hands-on mastery over a vast, versatile toolkit. This is your space to test limits, challenge systems, and build the artistic confidence needed to establish an influential, contemporary voice in the global design and tech sectors.
Facilities
The Design studios, labs, and specialized production facilities are primarily dedicated to students enrolled in the Bachelor of Design (BDes), Master of Design (MDes), and Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Design programs. However, cross-disciplinary students working on graphic, print, or fabrication projects are welcome to access these resources—such as the Design Print Services and Digital Fabrication Lab—upon completing program-specific health, safety, and equipment orientations.
