NSCAD University is opening its doors on Saturday, October 17, inviting anyone curious about studying art, craft, design and other creative fields to experience the university firsthand at its Fall Open House.
Taking place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at NSCAD’s Port Campus on the Halifax waterfront, the Open House will give visitors an opportunity to discover the range of programs and areas of study available at NSCAD, from fine arts and design to ceramics, jewellery, textiles, film, photography and art education. Visitors can tour studios and creative spaces, see where students learn and make, and meet current students, faculty and staff.
Those considering applying also can also bring their portfolios for one-on-one feedback and can speak with members of the NSCAD community about their creative interests, academic plans and the application process.
“An Open House gives people a chance to see what studying at NSCAD is really like — not just the programs, but the studios, the people and the creative community they could become part of,” said Rose Zack, Manager, Admissions & Recruitment at NSCAD University. “Whether someone already knows they want to pursue a creative education or is simply beginning to explore what’s possible, we encourage them to come in, ask questions and experience NSCAD for themselves.”
Applications are now open for future study at NSCAD. Prospective students with completed applications may receive an admission decision in as little as two weeks. The Fall Open House is free and open to all. Registration is required.
