What is Media Art Week?
Media Art Week (MAW) is built on a hunger to learn, experiment, challenge, and discuss the vast realm of media art. The core of MAW is formulated from the knowledge, skills, questions, and ideas of its participants.
We invite artists, students, animators, photographers, sound artists, performers, video makers, designers, programmers, hackers, and all media enthusiasts and critics alike to create, explore, share, and experience all things media art at NSCAD.
What to expect:
- Access to NSCAD’s Academy Campus
- Collaborative studio and computer lab
- Physical computing lab access
- Workshop participation and hosting opportunities
- Connection to the local media art community
- Optional short-term residency (May 11–June 16)
Schedule
Inspired by community learning unconference models, participants are invited to host a workshop, presentation, demo, discussion, lecture, walk, tour, field trip, group project, performance, screening, or reading group. These workshops are an opportunity to learn from one another, share media concepts, troubleshoot projects, learn new programs, and make art together.
Note: Some events require registration to particpate.
