About the challenge

The NSCAD Alumni Ring Design Challenge 2026 invites graduating students to submit creative concepts for the official 2026 Alumni Ring. This special “Make Your Mark” ring will be available for purchase by the class of 2026.

The winner will receive:

• A Sterling Silver Alumni Ring (valued at ~$489)
• Public recognition across NSCAD platforms
• Feature in VIVD, the NSCAD alumni newsletter

Eligibility: Open to all graduating students of 2026 — no purchase necessary.

How to submit/enter

• Read the Alumni Ring Design Instructions/Guidelines [PDF]
• Submit your design via email to alumni@nscad.ca
• Provide: Full Name, Email, Program, Graduation Status, Design Upload (scan or photograph of your design template)
• By submitting your design, you acknowledge and accept these conditions:
  • The ring design will be available to purchase exclusively for the NSCAD class of 2026.
  • NSCAD will feature your design on its website and social media platforms.
  • NSCAD has the right to share or display your design however the artist retains the right to use it in other applications, excluding ring
  • NSCAD will contact you to you regarding your submission.

Important dates

Submission Deadline: March 29, 2026 (11:59 PM AT)

• Top three designs to move to voting determined by the selection committee
• Graduating Class Voting Period: April 2- April 8  (link will be emailed to graduating students)
• Winner Announced: April 9, 2026
• Winner to place free order on (or before) April 9, 2026
• Winning ring showcased at Convocation May 12, 2026

Voting

• Only open to the graduating class of 2026
• One vote per student
