Anna Leonowens Gallery: Call for Fall 2020 Exhibitions

Call for Fall 2020 Exhibitions
Submissions due by July 15, 2020

After carefully considering public health guidelines and the unique physical circumstances at the Anna Leonowens Gallery, we have come to the decision that for the Fall 2020 semester, we will be unable to host our typical roster of in-person exhibitions and the gallery itself will remain closed to the public. However, we are excited to announce four new opportunities to exhibit with us in the Fall semester! Exhibition dates and gallery spaces will be prioritized for BIPOC students.

1. Anna Leonowens Window Galleries: call to activate window spaces in Galleries 1 or 2 with installations viewable from the Granville courtyard. These window spaces will be enclosed with a back wall for mounting works. These spaces can also support ceiling hangs.

2. @annaleonowens Instagram Showcase and/or website hosting: call for social media or web-based projects. We are designing an Instagram template to showcase works in a similar format to the 2020 Grad Showcase.
https://www.instagram.com/annaleonowensgallery/ An ideal format for smaller works, detailed pieces, digital works etc. We can also support online projects hosted on other platforms created by the exhibitor (additional domain and site creation expenses are the responsibility of the exhibitor).

3) Gallery 3 Projection Window: call for video art/media projects to be rear-projected onto the Gallery 3 windows facing Hollis Street, beginning daily at dusk.

4) Off-site projects: If you would like to propose an off-site, outdoors project please submit a detailed proposal including location, site limitations, access and what supports you will need from the gallery (equipment, site insurance, do you have/ need permission to use the site).

If you have questions about the application, please e-mail:
