Registration – Fall 2021

Registration is now open for fall 2021 and the winter 2022 semester timetable is available for viewing online! (Note: Though you can only view the winter timetable at this time, registration for the winter semester will be available soon.)

Returning Degree Students and Certificate Students
  • Students currently enrolled in degree or certificate programs can start registering for fall semester courses on Wednesday, June 30, at 10:00 a.m. AST
Non-Degree Students and Visiting Students (New and Returning)
  • Students will be able to register by contacting registrar@nscad.ca starting Monday, July 19, at 10 a.m. AST
Newly Accepted Students
  • Newly accepted students without transfer credits will receive a Foundation Course Selection Form from the Office of Admissions. Upon receipt of this form, please fill out and email to registerme@nscad.ca  Admissions advisors will be available to assist if needed. A foundation advisor will register new students for selected first-year courses and will send you a registration confirmation in mid-July.
  • Newly accepted students with transfer credits who still have remaining Foundation Year requirements will be contacted by a foundation advisor to discuss course selection and registration by mid-July.
  • Newly accepted students with transfer credits who have completed all Foundation Year requirements will be contacted by their upper-year academic advisor to discuss course selection and registration by mid to late July.
Graduate Students

Fall 2021 Academic Advising for Returning Students
  • Students who require academic advising are strongly encouraged to register for courses as soon as registration opens. Please do not wait to register until after your advising appointment as some courses fill up quickly. Registrations can be changed during your advising appointment or at any point prior to the start of the fall semester.
  • Academic advising will be prioritized based on seniority:
    • Students who are within a year of graduation will be advised during the week of July 5.
    • Second and third-year students who need academic advising are asked to contact their advisor during the week of July 12.
    • Students who are completing their remaining Foundation Year requirements in the fall semester are asked to contact their foundation advisor during the week of July 19. More information will be made available in the coming weeks with regards to your appointed foundation advisor.
  • When contacting your advisor, please:
    • include your NSCAD student ID number
    • Please consolidate all questions into a single email whenever possible, so that we are able to assist you efficiently
    • be proactive in seeking instructors’ permission to register for courses when prerequisites are not met. Please make sure to forward instructor permissions to your academic advisor to get registered.

Instructions and Troubleshooting
  • Students are encouraged to review the step-by-step instructions on the course search and registration functionality in Colleague Self-Service, making sure that courses for which they registered are listed in green with the notation “Registered”. A video tutorial is available as well.
  • Students who have problems accessing Colleague Self-Service should visit the Troubleshooting Login Issues page.
  • Returning students who have a financial hold will not be able to register until their financial hold has been removed. Please contact Students Accounts with any questions that you may have about your tuition.
