To help students plan their courses for the upcoming year until graduation, we are hosting a drop-in service with academic advisors beginning March 30, 2022.

NSCAD students are invited to apply for the 2022 winter scholarships, bursaries and awards. Applications will be open until April 15, 2022.

In early January, NSCAD launched the cohort hire initiative and received an incredibly positive response from within and beyond the bounds of the NSCAD community. As the next step in the selection process, we have extended an invitation to those short-listed applicants to address the NSCAD community and present their areas of research, creative practice and teaching. 
In early winter, NSCAD University partnered with Discover Halifax for the Take the Lead Pin Design Competition. Meichan Yuan, a third-year student in the jewellery and metalsmithing program, submitted the winning concept awarding her a $500 cash prize.
A new film festival is hitting the Atlantic film scene, thanks to NSCAD University and the NSCAD Alumni Association. The NSCAD University Film Festival, presented by TD Insurance, will launch both in person at Cineplex Park and online in partnership with FIN April 4-5, 2022, featuring award-winning films from alumni including Heather Young, Christian Sparkes, and more.
February is designated as African Heritage Month, a time to commemorate the history and heritage of People of African descent throughout the province.  We honor the voices of those lost at sea; and the blood of the Greats who watered our roots and has given us a place on which to stand.  In this moment, we recognize and celebrate the contributions and rich legacies of African Nova Scotians who have carried the torch of our ancestors through time.
