ADVISORY: All of Halifax Peninsula, including NSCAD’s three campuses, are currently under a boil water advisory until further notice. All water must be boiled for at least one minute if it will be used for drinking or any other activity requiring human consumption.

Garry Neill Kennedy Remembered

On the afternoon of Saturday, October 2, 150 family members, friends, colleagues, and admirers gathered at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia to celebrate the life of former NSCAD University President, Garry Neill Kennedy. Mr. Kennedy led NSCAD for 23 years and brought this small university global acclaim. Many current and former faculty and staff were in the audience, with live music being led by Lukas Pearse (BFA 1994).

Interim President Sarah McKinnon, PhD and Dr. Ann-Barbara Graff, Vice President (Academic and Research) and Provost  attended on behalf of NSCAD.

NSCAD University is currently discussing an appropriate memorial to Garry Neill Kennedy with his family, while respecting the need for time and space to grieve his loss. More information will be provided to the NSCAD community in due course.
