Presidential Search Committee

As the leader of an inclusive academic community where members are known and celebrated for their creativity and differences, the president of NSCAD ensures the university is promoting creative progress and pursuing sustainable leadership in art, craft and design.

The Presidential Search Committee is responsible for conducting the search for NSCAD’s president, and for carefully evaluating and recommending to the NSCAD Board of Governors the most suitable candidate for the Office of President.

The committee is consulting widely to establish the criteria to guide its evaluation and recommendation of candidates for president of NSCAD. As previously announced, the university has retained executive search firm Perrett Laver to facilitate the search.

The committee will be engaging extensively with faculty, students and staff as well as external partners during the consultation process to seek their advice, opinions and insights specifically regarding:
•    the key opportunities and challenges faced by NSCAD in the next decade, and
•    the key qualities and characteristics you would wish to see in the next president.

In addition to meetings you may attend, you can send written submissions in confidence to Emily Jarvis at Perrett Laver ( You can also contact Emily to arrange a conversation with a Perret Laver consultant, or to provide the names of any individuals who you believe to be suitable candidates for the position.

You are also invited to complete the form below to share your views in this vital undertaking as we shape the future of NSCAD.

Updates on the selection process and its outcomes will be posted to this page when they become available.
