Web Access
Activating your NSCAD online accounts is an essential first step in becoming a NSCAD student.
Student Webmail
All NSCAD students are assigned an NSCAD email address upon registration. You will use this same email address for the entirety of your time here at NSCAD. This email address will be the primary email address used to contact students, so it is very important that students regularly check this address.

Password Manager

Brightspace
Brightspace is our online learning platform where you’ll find everything about your current courses – content, materials, grades, and more. Information about classes, accounts, facilities and more will be communicated to you through our webmail and Brightspace accounts. You can also communicate with your teachers and classmates through discussion forums, as well as during live online class sessions.

Self-service
Self-Service is a student portal where you can:
- see your current and future (those you’ve registered for) semester schedules.
- find your transcript (unofficial listing of all courses and grades that appear on the transcript), and GPA.
- search our timetable and register online (online registration is only available once you have completed Foundation)
You can log into Self-Service by clicking the button below. To log in to this portal, you will need your username and password. Your username is the first part of your NSCAD email address and your password is the same as your email password.
Forms
Most NSCAD forms are located on the forms portal where students, staff, and faculty can find important forms related to work and studying at NSCAD. Please sign in with your NSCAD username and password.
Library guides
The NSCAD Library is Atlantic Canada’s largest library dedicated to arts, craft, and design. It houses an extensive collection of print and media resources, online databases, and special collections to support learning in all subjects taught at NSCAD.
IT Support
Please browse the list of Help Topics for assistance with some frequently asked questions such as how to set up a Microsoft Teams online meeting, how to share your calendar with other users and how to connect your devices to NSCAD’s wireless networks.
If you are a student requiring assistance with login issues, please review the “Troubleshooting login issues” page under our help topics. If these troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue, please visit the Multimedia Help Desk for further assistance.
Students looking for assistance with computer labs, printing, Brightspace, or equipment sign-outs should check the Multimedia Help Site. Faculty can also find helpful information on the Multimedia site regarding equipment and digitally-equipped classrooms.
