Peer Mentors
Peer Mentors
NSCAD’s Peer Support Program offers one-on-one peer support between students and trained peer mentors. Peer support is an effective strategy for individuals trying to maintain their mental health in a stressful academic environment or seek support from someone who is there to listen. The peer mentors have lived experience with mental illness and are current NSCAD students, putting them in an ideal place to support their peers.
Peer supporters hold regular drop-in office hours in the Wellness Room (G227) at Fountain Campus.
Please email peermentors@nscad.ca any questions or to ask about their offerings.

Why did you want to be a Peer Supporter?
I want my peers to know that there are people on campus that are rooting for them and are there for them. Before I became a peer supporter, I went to the peer support at my school and it was incredibly helpful, I wanted to pass that on. I hope to uplift others through this work and take the important skills I learn into the rest of my life.
