Edible Enunciations
Alicia Proudfoot, MFA Thesis Exhibition — Gallery 2

Artist Talk: Wednesday, March 13, 12 Noon

March 12 – 16, 2019
Opening reception: Monday, March 11, 5:30–7PM

Edible Enunciations presents asthma as entertainment. This exhibition embraces absurd aesthetics to host a suite of objects and performances celebrating the noisy, breathing body. Fusing industrial materials with her medical records, Alicia Proudfoot explores metaphors of filtration (pulmonary function), sound (breathing flow dynamics) and theatre (oral and bodily manifestations). This symbolic approach employs a creative centre that invites the gathering audience to discuss illness.
