About the Talk

Visual Artist Sheila Provazza discusses her experience as a scenic artist for opera and theater. This lecture will showcase sets from the stage of Glimmerglass Festival, local Halifax productions and will touch upon how techniques from scenic work were incorporated in to her teaching and painting.   

About The Artist(s)

Sheila Provazza has been teaching Drawing and Painting at NSCAD University since 1993. She received her BFA in Painting and Drawing from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth and her MFA in Painting from Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan. Provazza has exhibited her work in the United States and Canada and has work in the collection of Mount Saint Vincent University, Art Gallery of Nova Scotia and the Nova Scotia Art Bank. She has taught in the art departments of Alfred University and Chautauqua Institution in New York.
